This Week’s Links to Check Out
By Joe Fier | November 12, 2007
It’s one of those days again when I want to share all the great posts I’ve been reading from my reader over the last week or so. It’s been a while since I’ve done a post like one of these and I forgot how fun they actually are. I love spreading the word about some of the great reads out there, hoping that everyone else would check them out, and continue to do so in the future. Without further ado, here are my top reads…
- Diethack’s 8 Health Problems You May Encounter With Your Laptop and How To Solve Them shows great concern for those of us that use those handy computers. Since I use my laptop for everything, this definitely opened my eyes to some matters I haven’t thought about.
- Continuing with Diethack’s site, Harry also writes a great article called Are You Having Eyesight Problems? Many of us, myself included, neglect to pay attention to our eyes. When they grow increasingly worse, we often tend to ignore them. This post gives some good insight on how to help them out.
- Brip Blap has an amusing article called 67 Ways To Outlive 106 Billion People. There’s an awesome list that will give you some motivational tips in pretty much any aspect of your life that will help you better yourself. Print it out and put some of these thoughts to use in your daily activities.
- Zen Habits brings to light the importance of meditation in our daily lives. He also lists a ton of great tips for starting out in his post Meditation for Beginners: 20 Practical Tips For Quieting The Mind. Unfortunately to say, I am one of those that have tried but never kept at it; This will definitely help me stay with the game.
- Zen Habits is full of so many awesome posts, so I need to share this one. In his article, 10 Great Ways to Show You’re Grateful Today, he points out that giving simple appreciation can go a long way. He also gives us some great ideas to show thanks to others. Give them a shot!
- Life Optimizer offers a very detailed how-to guide to reading classic books. I know this may seem weird to add on this link list, but I know I have always had problems reading some of the must-reads out there. Check out How To Read Classic Books Effectively and become a master!
- Since Zen Habits is popular on my list, I found a great overview of his new e-book, Zen To Done, at Get More With Life. The article, Book Review: Zen To Done, gives sound criticism and great complements on the e-book. Check it out if you get the chance!
- After receiving numerous comments today from fellow workers saying I look tired (which I am), the post at the Ririan Project sparked my interest. Read Top 10 Ways to Ruin Your Night and see how you’ve been cheating yourself out of good sleep.
- The Ririan Project always provides very influential reads, so here’s another from them. How to Turn Everyday Chores Into a Muscle Busting Workout gives some great ideas for those of us digging for time to workout and still manage to complete the everyday ins and outs.
