Swine Flu: Any Need For Concern?
By Joe Fier | April 24, 2009
You’ve probably heard, but the big hype in the media right now is the outbreak of the Swine Flu. It sounds a little odd that people are talking about a pig influenza, but it’s actually now infecting people in both Mexico and the U.S. As of this post, the number of people who have been killed from this flu is up to 20, all of them being in Mexico. In addition to that, at least 8 cases have been reported in Southern California and Texas. Because of these cases, the news is reporting that health agencies in Mexico and U.S.’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are working overtime to make sure this strain doesn’t spread any more than it has already. Hearing this and then seeing the various pictures of Mexican citizens wearing face masks to protect themselves, it’s sure to scare a bunch of people!

Luckily, you don’t have to worry about squat! Nada, nothing, nichts, rein.
According to Dr. Jon LaPook of CBS News, even with the outbreak, there is absolutely no cause to panic. Now that’s refreshing, eh? He says that if you come down with any symptoms of the Swine Flu (which is nothing more than those of a typical flu), take plentiful amounts of a typical flu medication medicines.
All in all, the numbers have shown that the number of Swine Flu cases have started to flatline, bringing even more relief. Let’s hope the numbers stay that way because the spread of this disease is not confined to just Mexico, being that at least 600,000 people cross the US-Mexico border each day.
